Blast From the Past

Fri Dec 5, 2008, 5:21 PM
What? Huh? InvisiblePen? Who's that?

It started with the death of my scanner. College and depression took over from there, and... wow. It's been over a year. A lot has changed, hasn't it? Who's still here? Who else wandered off and never came back?

I'm going to be starting a new account, I think. I've dropped this user name everywhere else, and I'm not sure I exist anywhere in it. I don't really draw anymore, aside from doodles on my lecture notes. Any desire to write died, although I'd like to change that. There's a certain fear of being utter rubbish after stopping for a while.

There's a fear of coming back, as well. I've thought a lot about some of you, but I was afraid you wouldn't be here anymore. Maybe I was more afraid that you WOULD be here and had forgotten me--easy enough to do, unfortunately.

What I'd like to say, I suppose, is that I'm back (in a way), and I missed several of you. I should have come back sooner.

(ETA: My new DA user name is DarlingV, so if that stranger happens to friend you, don't be alarmed.)

Death is always less painful and easier than life . . . and yet we do not, day to day, choose death. Because ultimately, death is not the opposite of life, but the opposite of choice. Death is what you get when there are no choices left to make.
